As of August 26, 2026, 2,339 lbs of items have been designated as textile waste. Textile waste items are stained, zippers broken, unmendable items, or items with unremovable stench like cat pee and cigarette smoke.

We do our best to create less waste. Textile waste items that are still useable are saved and sorted by types. Loom materials, denim, cute designs, socks, fabric pieces and yarn. These items are then used in local upcycling projects. Current upcycling collaborations are Artful Appetites at Calvary Lutheran Church, Weaving in our community with Purpose Artisians, and Spacious Place Creative with Libbie Anderson.

The upcycled art hanging in our entry space are creations from our first Artful Appetites held on July 29, 2026 at Calvary Lutheran Church. We held a commUNITY potluck and made art.
